This painting won an honorable mention award at the Schuler School of Fine Arts 2012 Fur to Feathers juried art show. The Schulers have a love of animals and honor the traditions of the great genre. I heard about the school via the William Secord gallery in New York, where the wonderful Christine Merrill, a Schuler graduate, exhibits her amazing dog paintings and portraits.
